From a worse to probably my best.
I know I have a knack for this. I am a magpie for words in my regular life. If I hear a word in an interesting way, then I will use that intonation when I use that word.
I also like to mix them up. Friends are used to me thanking them by saying, ‘Danke mucho’ or ‘Gracias beaucoup’.
It is a definite thing that I concentrate on, especially if I am doing a fanfic. I need the reader to hear that actor say those words and believe it.
I can maybe in love with dialogue too much. A serial fanfic I am doing begins with five lines of dialogue between two people before any action takes place. A reader was put off by that and almost didn’t continue with the story. Thankfully, she pushed past her reticence and is enjoying the fic.
I have an ancestor who was a musician. I like to think that my love of the sound of words is a translation of his talent. That the patterns I hear in syllables mirror those he heard in notes.
It is my go to. The one thing I can count on most.

There are times when I have remind myself to put some action and not just have a big block of dialogue.

I love good dialogue 😀 plus unusual things, like the 5 lines you mention in your serial facfic. I have a character who only uses contractions in moments of heightened emotion- his partners react instantly to him using a contraction- “What? What’s wrong? How can I fix it?” 😀

Dialogue makes or breaks a story, I think. And sometimes it’s easier to write down the first draft of a scene with only dialogue, then go back and polish, add tags and action (no one wants talking-heads dialogue 😉 ). Great post!

I’m a big fan of alliteration as well! And I love dialogue. It’s the meat of the story (the plot being the potatoes and peas) for me. 🙂
