CRInktober 2018 Day 17: Morning

Morning.
The adventure begins anew.
Breakfast, cold depending on the embers.
A quick workout to stretch the muscles.
A moment for centering.
A look at the map.
A last check that everything is where it should be.
The first steps back onto the trail.
Onward to the next morning.

CRInktober 2018 Day 16: Night

Night can bring hidden danger
Can be of peril or fear
When the fire light does not extend far enough for comfort
(Those times when a fire can be had).

But night can be a time of comfort
Of rest.
When the fire shines brightly on the faces of your companions
And the rest of the world, of no concern.

CRInktober 2018 Day 15: Food

I lay the table before you
A light repast.
At the center are the pastries (made with cinnamon).
Fresh vegtables and herbs surround them.

To the one side are some cuts of meats.
In front be the dish of pocket bacon, of course.

To the other side, our drinks.
Milk in bright glasses.
Whisky in mugs.
Tea in cups (with a jar of honey nearby).

Take as much as you wish
We have plenty.

Then join us around fire,
To remember the tales.
And speak of our dreams.

CRInktober 2018 Day 13: Include the DM

World Weaver
Keeper of a Never History
Beautiful Liar

To you falls the burden of Creation
Giver of the Lore
Engineer of the Perils

You are central to all
Even as you make others the heart of the tale

Hours spent to create lifetimes
A world within
Shared little by little
Added upon by those who join you on this journey.

You are one with your world
There can be no other way.
Your gift alive
As its stories are shared.

CRInktober 2018 Day 10: Sleep

You wouldn’t let yourself think about it.
What make come to you when you closed your eyes.
A single Eye.
Piercing into you
Cold and unfeeling.
Threatening.
Then came Her.
Warm. Loving.
Who opened another to you.
One that lead to peace
And a new path.
Now sleep is the healing balm.
Without fear.
Without pain

CRInktober 2018 Day 9: Child

We found you in a swamp
Lost from your family
Talking only in echos.
We took you with us for safety’s sake
And you took our hearts with you.
Fiercely cute
In need of protection
Yet willing to protect in turn.
We left you with those
Who could better care for you
But never did you leave our hearts.
We shall remember you when we think
Of fireworks
And flowers
And daggers.

CRInktober Day 5: Life

“Life has a cycle.
Life is a cycle.
It goes this way and that.
It starts, goes on, and ends.
And the end is just as much a part of life as the beginning.
Growth is life.
Decay is life.
Love is life.
Anger is life.
Life is so much more than you let it be sometimes.
It encompasses so much.
And the best we can do
Is to let it happen.
And act accordingly.”
