It is Midsummer. Temps to be in the triple digits (only 95 now). And you look again at my hot chai latte. Yup, I’m weird.
Don’t have much time today, meant to but time went sideways somehow.
Camp NaNo is looming. Still deciding details. It’s a Harry Potter fanfic, bit AU. Should be interesting. Might be the first Camp I’ve won in quite the while.
For some reason, I put less emphasis on Camp than on regular NaNo. I guess it feels like more of a lark to me so not as much pressure.
In other news, have you heard of Library Thing? It’s an online site that lets you catalog your personal library. It’s a fun time and this week I saw this from them. Barcode labels. And my little geek-worked-in-the-school-library-unofficially-heart went pitter pat. Yeah, going to be picking some up.
Nothing much else. Could talk about Charleston, but what can you say? It was wrong and most likely will happen again.
I feel like I should make up a name to use for you. You know, like how Stephen King uses ‘Constant Reader’? Just not sure what it should be.
I decided what I’m going to do for Camp NaNo next month. And for once, I find myself thinking about it every day. I just might get this done. To be vague, it’s going to be a Harry Potter fanfic. Be the first time I’ve done a fanfic for Camp if I remember right. Should prove interesting, might even try to keep it het.
Oh, not sure if told you, but going to cosplay for the first time during Fan Fest in December. It’s put on by the same ones who put on our Comicon. It’s smaller and at a different location. Finally decided to try for the Ninth Doctor.
The jacket will be the trickiest part but we will see how it goes.
Oh, and speaking of Comicon, the attendance figures came in bit ago.
Fingers crossed next year I’ll have more money and more time.

Damn, do I love our Comicon! Was only able to go yesterday (last year did all four days). Third year for me, second for my best friend (known hereafter on this blog as MBM for Me Best Mate) That’s me on the left with the grey hair.

We didn’t plan on going to any of the panels or trying for any autographs, save for one on my part. We mostly wandered around the exhibitor’s hall looking at the merchandise. We did catch Chuck Wendig’s spotlight panel.
Chuck is delightfully mad and a great author. His was the autograph I wanted and I got it.
So, the rest of my loot that I acquired.
The artist was surprised we knew Tesla. There were two others in the set, Lovecraft and Einstein. Probably be getting those later.

There are ten in the series. I have the first and know where can get a few of the others but these two were a steal at the price.
Slowly getting all the movies. Another steal.
I like buttons. Will have to show you my bag after putting these on.
I looked at a few pics and merch for Tom!Loki before deciding on this one. Was the best quality and just a great pic. By the by, I wrote it as Tom!Loki on purpose. It comes from the fanfic world where we use the exclamation mark to describe different versions of characters (AU!Character, Vampire!Character). This is Loki as portrayed by Tom Hiddleston, not Loki as most Heathens know Him.
Little more money and I would have gotten seasons 2 and 3 as well. That incense is great smelling.
Did not expect such Royalty to be present.
Next year, MBM and I are planning to go and try our hand at cosplaying for the first time. She’s thinking of going as a character from one of her favorite animes. I have no idea who I want to be, or even a top five to pick from. Won’t be a complex costume, more subtle but recognizable.

The expected turnout this year was 80,000. I’ll let you know what the final number winds up being. We were trending on both Facebook and Twitter this weekend.
Tomorrow starts the June Session of Camp NaNoWriMo. I wasn’t going to do it. Then I was going to redo the project from the April Session that I tried as a screenplay, but was going to do as a novel. Now I’m thinking of putting that off til November and just doing a fun fantasy novel, more befitting Summer. We’ll see how it goes.
EDIT: Second session is actually in July. More time to be indecisive.

Tomorrow is Memorial Day, not to be confused with Veteran’s Day. In my religion, those who died in battle and were taken to Valhalla are called the Einherjar. (On a side note, that is the only way to get into Valhalla. It is not Heaven. You don’t get in for being a good little Heathen.)
My writing practices have not been as I’ve hoped. I have only myself to blame. Old habits and such. Need to change.
I do wish to continue on with how I view life. As an opportunity to experience things. Even if it is only the inside of my own brain. To grow and learn.
(Another side note. That paragraph was written without me knowing what the next word was going to be as I was typing. Little nudge from the brainpan.)

A-Z is going full swing and so glad I did all my posts last month cause I’ve been terrible about writing so far this month. Only worked on my Camp script on the first day. Need to get back in to it.

It has been a long week and I am tired as usual. But it as been a good one too.
I got my tookus in gear on getting my A-Z Challenge entries done and ready to post. Just need to type them up.
And made some headway on my Camp NaNo story. Actually have an idea of how to start it. Rethinking on if want to keep it a script or do a novel.
Am so behind on Vikings and Walking Dead. Might be at least another week and half before have chance to catch up
But overall things are progressing nicely. At the moment anyway. Never good to expect too far ahead. Invites disaster.
By the by, there maybe a curse word that makes its way onto the blog during A-Z and beyond. Just along the lines of what I used tookus up there for. Just so you know..
Ah. You will find me nicely relaxed. Been a quiet week for the most part. Did have to run an errand clear across the Valley to the rich city. But it was painless.
My best friend got Sorted into Pottermore today and she’s in Slytherin! We both had a vague thought she would end up in Gryffindor but yay, my House.
Not much to talk about. Need to get on doing my A – Z posts so I can get started on Camp NaNo. Got a plot idea and actors but not sure on the casting.
Things are rather groovy at the moment, I have to say. Hope they’re the same for you. Another pastry?
I would still be tired from yesterday but this weather begs to be out in a cafe. Cloudy, wind just a bit of cold. And the quick shower we just had.
There would have to be a raising of the cups for the loss of Leonard Nimoy. For what he gave and inspired.
I have been thinking how much I miss being in RPGs (Role Playing Game) lately. I was part of two major ones some years ago. I think one might still be active but the other folded after a little over a year. I was also a member of three smaller ones round the same time, one of which I created.
One was one Live Journal and the rest on Greatest Journal if remember right. Was a long time ago.
I would stay up til near dawn many a night writing in them. It was a fun time.
That’s probably where that thought to do the fake journal came from. To have that fantasy element outside of the fics. Step into another skin, as it were.
But today is a lazy day. It’s going to be hard to get up out of the chair. Really need to work on that teleportation. Along with the telekinesis.
